Set-up/Change Number
When an 0800 is set up, it is necessary to nominate a
"terminating" number. This is the number to which callers will be diverted
automatically when they ring the 0800 number. It is usually the company or
home geographic number. .
- Only the named account holder can set-up or change the terminating
number by calling customer services of the chosen supplier.
- The terminating number must be a fixed U.K. telephone line, it
cannot be a mobile number
- Allow up to 5 working days for this to be completed
- It is possible to make the ring
tone different to the mainline, so that one knows that the caller has
dialled the frreephone number as opposed to the mainline number.

Connecting
Applying for Freephone
Customers applying for a Freephone number MUST subscribe to at least
one other service
Complete an application form
Call prepayment of £10
- paid only if the Freephone Service is not being connected to an existing
account
- one £10 Prepayment is required per new account no matter how many
services are being connected
The terminating number must be written on the form
The direct debit mandate form must be completed
Customer Acquisitions order the Freephone number which is issued within
4-5 days
The customer is informed in writing of their Freephone number once it is
active
Customers should not advertise their Freephone number or use it on
stationery until they have received the letter informing them of the
Freephone number and have tested it is working by making a call to it.

Porting
- Only possible for BT and Cable & Wireless Freephone numbers
- Approximately 7 - 14 days to complete a port
- £29.38 inc vat is charged to port a freephone number onto Freephoneplus
- Complete an application form with the number being ported, 2 pro
formas, a copy of the BT or Cable and Wireless bill and a sheet of
company headed paper
- There is no charge to port a freephone number from the Utility
Warehouse to another network
